Disaster Services
Each year, the American Red Cross responds immediately to more than
67,000 disasters, including house or apartment fires, tornados,
hurricanes, hazardous material spills, transportation accidents,
explosion, and other natural man-made disasters.
Local Disaster Services ProgramThe Hoosier Hills Chapter provides 24-hour disaster assistance to
Lawrence, Martin and Orange county residents. Single family emergencies
are the most frequent disasters responded to by the Chapter.
The Red
Cross provides immediate disaster relief including: food,
clothing, shelter. The Red Cross may also provide medical and
mental health assistance, minor home repairs, and rental assistance for
qualifying individuals or families. Additionally, the Hoosier
Hills Chapter provides community disaster preparedness trainings upon
request.

assistance is free and made possible by donors and volunteers.

Disaster Action Team (DAT) Volunteers
- Perform disaster assessments, shelter opporations, client casework
services, and other disaster related services.
- Provide local emergency relief services, and may also be deployed to
respond to National Disasters.
- On call 24/7.
- The Hoosier Hills Chapter always welcomes new DAT volunteers.
